Chapter 103: "I'll Make Men Out Of You"

I hadn't told anyone else what I was planning, and I had asked both Phil and Ice to keep their silence, but I told everyone not to disturb Tooth in the back room. It was the next day and everyone was training. A special kind of training. Ruthless, vigorous, non-stop training since early this morning. And I decided to work them up with a little song. "Please don't." You love my singing. "I do, but you're going to embarrass yourself." I know what I'm doing. "Alright." Onyx sighed and I grinned. Everyone looked at me, now fully awake as I slammed my hands down on the side table. "Let's get down to business, to defeat, the Fearlings."
"Of course that one." Onyx giggled. Everyone glanced at each other, then looked back at me. "Did they give me peasants? When I asked, for kings!" Pitch smiled, and so did Sandy, as well as Mark, Katherine, Jack, and my Australian friends. They each nodded and began to spar. Everyone unsurely followed their lead, and I walked around to scan them all. "You're the saddest bunch I ever met." I looked at Claude and Layla, and they gulped but didn't stop. I nodded my approval. "But you can bet, before we're through..." I spotted Nightlight practicing on his own and began to make my way over to him. "Somehow, I'll make soldiers... Out of you!" I jumped in and flashed my sword out, and to my satisfaction, Nightlight blocked it with his staff. Fast, good reflexes. I had yet truly evaluate the newcomers' strengths, weaknesses, and overall skill. "Tranquil as a forest, but a fire, within..." I quickly pulled back and swept out my leg, but he flipped over me and landed behind. I whipped around and blocked his fist with my arm. Then I weaved away from him, leaving him to spar with Bunny. I dove between Cupcake and Pippa, aiming a punch to Cupcake that she quickly blocked. "Once you find your center, you are sure, to win!" I sang with a smile, and she nodded. I left her to begin fighting with Pippa again. I raced around, weaving through fights to test my own agility and reflexes. Then I came to a stop and looked them over. "You're a spineless, pale, pathetic lot, and you haven't got a clue..." I mock sighed, and this only made them look more determined. "But I know, I'll make soldiers... Out of you!"
"I'm never gonna catch my breath!" Cassie mock gasped. "Say goodbye to those who knew me!" Fay giggled. "Boy was I a fool in school for cutting gym!" Riley exclaimed as she sparred with Jamie. "This gal's got 'em scared to death!" Ice joined in. "Hope she doesn't look right through me!" Jamie sang, and my heart fluttered. "But it doesn't matter, 'cause I know we'll win!" Caleb and Nanna said firmly. "To be soldiers!" The children chorused. "We must be swift as the coursing river!" I started again, noticing how their moves flowed. "To be soldiers!"
"With all the force of a great typhoon!" Almost all of them had enough strength to knock each other back. "To be soldiers!"
"With all the strength of a raging fire!" I observed their passion. "Mysterious as they dark side of the Moon!" I fought with a few more of them, and I now sparred with Mark in the center. "Time is racing toward us, till the final fight!" He nodded, pulling out his trusty hammer. "Heed my every order, and you'll survive, the night!" I stopped Mark and gestured for him to watch everyone spar beside me. "You're unsuited for... The rage of war. But I know, that we'll make do. Because I'll, make soldiers out of you!" I gazed upon all of my devoted army. "To be soldiers!"
"We must be swift as the coursing river!"
"To be soldiers!"
"With all the force of a great typhoon!"

"With all the strength of a raging fire! Mysterious as the dark side of the Moon!"
"To be soldiers," We all joined together, "We must be swift as the coursing river... With all the force of a great typhoon. With all the strength of a raging fire! Mysterious as the dark side of the Moon!!" As if we were in a Disney movie, Tooth loudly opened the back door, with several rolls of blueprints nearly falling out of her arms. She was smiling broadly. "Tooth, you're finished!" I said happily and she giggled. "I've been done, I just didn't want to interrupt the song." We all began to laugh.
